Safe online learning
Our online learning environment should support appropriate, professional interaction between students and staff, with clear expectations for behaviour during live lessons and use of the student platform.

The welfare and safety of every Ivy High student matters. Safeguarding is part of how we design our school, our online environment and the way our team works with students and families.
We want students to feel safe, respected and able to speak up when something does not feel right. Safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and should be acted on promptly through Ivy High's safeguarding procedures.
Our safeguarding arrangements are being developed with reference to current Department for Education guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education and guidance for remote education.
Our online learning environment should support appropriate, professional interaction between students and staff, with clear expectations for behaviour during live lessons and use of the student platform.
Students and parents should always know how to raise a concern. Concerns about a student's welfare, online behaviour or an interaction with a member of the school community should be reported promptly.
Ivy High is committed to appropriate safer-recruitment checks and safeguarding training for people working with students, in line with the requirements that apply to their role.
Students should feel heard. We encourage them to speak to a trusted adult if they are worried about themselves, another student or something they have experienced online.
If you have a safeguarding concern relating to an Ivy High student, contact our safeguarding team as soon as possible.
Before launch, Ivy High's named Designated Safeguarding Lead and dedicated safeguarding contact details will be published here.
Online education brings different opportunities and risks. Ivy High's safeguarding and child-protection procedures will address remote learning, live lessons, online communication, reporting concerns and the responsible use of school technology.
Our full Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy will set out Ivy High's procedures, responsibilities, reporting routes and safeguarding leadership in detail. It will be published here once finalised and appropriately reviewed.
The final policy, named Designated Safeguarding Lead, deputy arrangements, reporting email and relevant local safeguarding procedures must be confirmed. We will not present draft arrangements as final.
