Feel known
Students should be recognised as individuals, not simply another name on a register.

Ivy High was created from a belief shaped by our own experience: there should be more than one way for a young person to receive a brilliant education.

Ivy High began with a simple question: What would school look like if we could build it again, from the student's point of view?
Growing up, we had our own struggles with mainstream schools. We know what it feels like when a school environment simply isn't the right fit — and we also saw how difficult that could be for our parents.
Our parents wanted the best for us, but finding somewhere that offered the right combination of education, support, flexibility and understanding wasn't easy.
Looking back, a school like Ivy High could have made a real difference to us and to our families.
That experience stayed with us. Years later, it became part of the reason we decided to create the kind of school we wish had been available to families like ours.
Traditional schools work brilliantly for many children. But children are individuals, and one environment will never be perfect for everyone.
Some students thrive with greater flexibility. Some learn better away from the distractions or pressures of a traditional classroom. Some need more individual attention. Others simply flourish when they're given a different environment in which to learn.
None of that should mean compromising on the quality of their education. That's why we created Ivy High.
At Ivy High, we want to understand the student in front of us. Our approach combines live teacher-led lessons, small classes, recorded learning, regular feedback and progress tracking, giving students structure while recognising that every child's educational journey is different.
Students should be recognised as individuals, not simply another name on a register.
They should feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and sharing what they need.
Although our classrooms are online, we want every student to feel genuinely part of their school.
Through engaging teaching and an education that works for them.
To a supportive school community where they're recognised as an individual.
Academically and personally, developing the confidence to take their next step.
We want to listen to our students and parents. We want their experiences and ideas to help shape the school we're building.
That's the school we wish we'd had.
And that's why we created Ivy High.
